Loving where you live makes an easy staycation!

Now more than ever It is important to plan time to get away, even if you can't travel far. Staycationing is the practice of enjoying activities at home or nearby. A staycation is easy when you live on the coast! Living in Brunswick County, North Carolina, I have found that staying local is so much more fun and relaxing. It doesn't require airline tickets or hours in the car to find vacation type fun.

Who doesn't love going to the beach? Many people plan their yearly vacation to do just that! Living in Brunswick County, I have six gorgeous beaches, on five barrier islands, to choose from with only about a 30 minute trip, maximum. Whether or not you love to sunbathe, there are other beach activities you can enjoy. Bring your fishing poles, search for shells, or just play a game in the sand. There is something for everyone. To me, soaking up some vitamin D while listening to the ebb and flow of the ocean the most relaxing and rejuvenating thing to do. In Oak Island alone, there are 65 public beach access points and parking is FREE!!

Going to the beach isn't your thing? Come enjoy the Intercoastal Waterway! What is that? According to Wikipedia The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) is a 3,000-mile inland waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of the United States, running from Boston, Massachusetts, southward along the Atlantic Seaboard and around the southern tip of Florida, then following the Gulf Coast to Brownsville, Texas. Bring your boat or rent a jet ski and enjoy the ICW! Other activities that you can enjoy on the ICW include paddle boarding, kayaking, boating, and fishing, etc. without even going into the ocean. There are also several places to stop and dine on the ICW.

Did you hear that dining is exquisite in Brunswick County? It is! Whether you prefer a gourmet meal at an upscale restaurant or a burger on the waterfront, Brunswick County has it! From Southport to Calabash you can also grab something to eat and take a picnic to the beach or ICW. There are also several personal chef’s that will come right to your home!!

There are many reasons to love Brunswick County, these are just a few of the reasons that make a staycation a great option. Don’t live here, but want to?? I can help with that! I love where I live!
